Application for the PhD program at the Abbe School of Photonics

Welcome to the Online Application Portal! Thank you for your interest in our PhD program.

The application process is organized such that it can be completed in approximately 10 minutes if you have all the necessary information and documents ready. Please review www.asp.uni-jena.de/application-phd to prepare the necessary documents.

After you submitted your application, it will be reviewed by members of the Abbe School of Photonics faculty you applied to. They will contact you directly if they find your application interesting. It is possible that multiple supervisors will contact you at the same time. You can discuss your possibilities with each of them. If you receive acceptance letters from more than one supervisor, you can decide which project you would like to pursue.

Please note that we are dealing with a very high number of applicants. The selection process may require a significant amount of time as we want to give every candidate a fair chance and consider every application individually. We kindly ask for your patience. You will receive a notification about the decision of the Abbe School of Photonics as soon as possible.
